Dream by Priscilla Ahn
Dreaming of Dance through WMU's Programs
She put pennies and Playdough in the bottoms of her shoes, a little girl of 4 or 5 years old, and wobbled as she tried to walk on her toes, wanting to be prima ballerina.
Now, Izzabella Irwin, an 18-year-old freshman at Western Michigan University, continues her dream of dance but not without effort. She has been dancing ballet since she was 7 years old and started dancing jazz and modern when...

Little Excerpt...
The pan stared at her from the stove. She eyed it right back, gazing over the crusty burnt edges, orange liquid pooling in on one side, sticks of leftover disintegrating cinnamon. She shook her head and tried to restrain herself from throwing the object of disgust on the floor. She did restrain, knowing that if she did, it would be her cleaning it up (like everything else).
Asked me to clean up...

Funny things professors say
So I very much enjoy quoting professors while I’m taking notes. There are some great things that I feel that they say that needs to be expressed to the world. After my Photojournalism class, I decided that I should blog some of these nice phrases that my wonderfully awesome professor said during class.
- “It’s a dance with your space”
-“Be careful when you shoot...

It is my wonderful roommate’s last night to hang out with us before she goes off to the national guard. I’m going to miss her face, oh, so much. I hope that she has the change that she wants in her life and is happy down at basic traing. DO PUSH UPS! :)
So in celebration of her amazingness, we are having a hangout night. Even our good friend, Fergerburger, is coming down for a visit...

More on the Job Hunt Front
Blah! Why is trying to get a job so complicated in this day and age? I think I’ve applied to two jobs which have NOTHING to do with my major and I plan on applying to more that have nothing to do with what I originally wanted to do. I don’t know. Life. Grr. I’m just going to make very. short sentences. to show. my frustration. Any advice from the blog front?

Excursion Around Town
I began writing a fun little creative non-fiction of my day yesterday which involved meeting a great and awesome friend on campus, walking to a local pub and then continuing walking into the downtown area about fifteen minutes away.
Well I figured it wasn’t that good of a creative non-fiction considering I was getting bored writing it, but it does make a good story.
So after the pub, not...

Adding to Resolutions
I knew I would think of more resolutions to add as soon as I posted my blog. So here are the adds
- Get on the Dean’s list for my last semester of college (An obvious one and very reachable considering my class load)
- Learn how to figure skate ( I just spent 2 hours down at a pond by my apartment and about after the first half hour of going either forwards or backwards in a circle, I...
Why am I blogging after coding another blog for 3...
So that is the ultimate question. I am currently doing for Professor S about certain blogs. We have to go through a years worth of blog entries and mark down whether they say something negative or positive about certain topics. So far, although a lot of work, I’ve really enjoyed reading them.
Some are tedious and strenuous to get through due to a negative attitude of the blogger but others...

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012
Dear 2011,
You know we had some good times. A lot of laughs and fun. This past summer working great hours (after I quit a certain job and got a more awesome one at C), laying out by the pool and playing volleyball was a blast. I met so many people this year, 2011, and it’s all thanks to you.
However, there were some times where I didn’t like you that much, Fall 2011 semester when I...

Idea for Novel...Please leave suggestions :)
Hello World,
If you hadn’t seen my previous blog, this is my second attempt at righting this pitch for a Novel I’m thinking about writing. I know that everyone has always mentioned to save your work before finishing it but not me. Oh well.
So in this little idea, please remember that it is just an idea and I will most definately include much more backstory, character development and...
Stupid stupid
Argh!!!!! I had the cut button. I had just typed up an entire story pitch for about an hour and was going to copy it from the blog to a word document that I could save it as and, of course, I press cut instead of copy. I have no idea how to get the content back. So discouraged…
Well, hopefully I’ll be able to remember the story idea in full and have it out on the blog shortly.
grrrr.
Prune Juice and Heart Shaped Jello
And so it is… I have been lazy being on winter break. All of my great ambitiousness of getting things done and writing every day in the blog dissapated after traveling to the relatives multiple houses. However, I have decided to blog again…thanks to a push, wait shove, my my lovely boyfriend. So here is a nice little excerpt of a short story I’m going to write on the fly.

A Thin Covering
Who told you of the sound the fog makes when lights slash through it? Is it like a deers’ scream? The doe , because her ears prickle for comfort, runs into the road. She likes the sound of concrete under her hooves I’ll take you into the fallen oak and teach you to trace the moon on your back, the reflective light kindles our lives full of melancholy clouds.

On becoming an adult (slowly)...
Hurray!!!!
My finals are over and it is time to begin my job search. I mean, I “big girl job” search at hopefully a publishing company or something. I need to get online and research more but I know that there are at least three publishing companies in the Kalamazoo area and one in Three Rivers. That would be great! I would love to be able to stay around here until T graduates in Dec....

List of Books I Need to Read for Next Semester
If only stress burned calories....
Now that it is Final Exam week, I find that I am completely drained of life. Not only does studying create a little headache but add illness onto that and poof! It creates a drained shell of a human barely slugging along at work.
Remember, smile.
Who knew how much that one phrase actually does. It makes you take a breath, tighten a few screws in your cheeks and flash teeth at anybody. This...

Time to blog...for real
I’ve decided that it was about time that I took my writing to the next level and actually blog a little. This blog will consist mostly of my randomness sprinkled with a little bit of poetry, photography and life as I continuously inch closer to graduation.
So, about me. I am a senior at a University with a Creative Writing and Journalism degree and I am currently trying to figure out what...
